Oregon: Sales Tax Handbook
Oregon Sales Tax Rate
|State Sales Tax||Local Sales Tax Range||Average Local Tax||Average Combined Tax||Max Combined Tax|
Oregon is one of the five states in the USA that have no state sales tax.
Oregon is one of five states with no statewide sales tax, but Oregon law still allows municipalities or cities to enact their own local sales taxes at their discretion. Ashland, for example, has a 5% local sales tax on the sale of prepared food.
While Oregon does not collect a sales tax, excise taxes are levied on the sale of certain products, including alcohol, cigarettes & tobacco, and gasoline. These excise taxes are passed on to the consumer in the goods' price.
