A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the Georgia sales tax. People who purchase products with the intention of selling the product are not subject to Georgia's sales tax. To fulfill the exemption, they should submit this sales tax exemption certificate to the seller stating the purpose for which they are making the purchase. The form can also be used for out-of-state buyers intending to pick up the consignment from a Georgia-based seller or products procured for use by the Federal Government.
