In the state of Wyoming, they are considered to be exempt in cases where rental is computed from the gross receipts of the operation, so long as the operator has a valid interstate authority or permit. An additional surcharge is imposed on any rentals of rental vehicles for a time period of at least thirty-one days.

Sales of tangible media property are subject to sales tax in Wyoming.
