A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the Alabama sales tax. Alabama residents in the agricultural industry should use this form for the purpose of purchasing agricultural goods that are considered exempt from sales tax. These goods include, but are not limited to, fungicides, pesticides, livestock feed, livestock, and poultry. The items purchased must be used for agricultural purposes, and the purchaser must have a valid SCS farm number in order for exempt status to be granted. Please note that feed for domestic pets is not tax exempt.
