A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the Nebraska sales tax. Like almost all other states, Nebraska does not apply sales tax to goods purchased for resale or out-of-state delivery. To avail the exemption, the retailers making the purchase for resale should submit the Resale or Exempt Sale Exemption Certificate to the seller, who will save it in his file. The vendor is not supposed to verify that you are being truthful in your resale exemption certificate unless they already know otherwise.
