New York Farmer's and Commercial Horse Boarding Operator's Exemption Certificate
A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the New York sales tax. You can download a PDF of the New York Farmer's and Commercial Horse Boarding Operator's Exemption Certificate (Form ST-125) on this page. For other New York sales tax exemption certificates, go here.
The State of New York allows farmers and commercial horse boarding operators to purchase certain items or services without being subject to the state sales and use tax. Like most other sales tax exemption forms, this form should be completed and given to the vendor either at the time of the purchase or within 90 days after the delivery of the property or performance of the service. The certificate could also be sent and received electronically. You can also use this form as a blanket-certificate to cover all the future purchases of the same nature and from the same seller. Please note that you cannot use this form to claim tax exemption on gasoline or diesel motor fuel. There is a different form for that.
